This is a pretty simple photograph. Nice clean lines, interesting foreground, nice background, and an interesting subject. The reason I like this one so much is because of how I made it. When possible I prefer to use wide angle instead of super-wide angle lenses. This often means working harder to get the right location. This photo was taken with my tripod up against a fence, camera leveled, and with a few ferns in the foreground. In post-production I added a few more ferns to the foreground to cover up foliage that wasn’t quite as pretty. It’s the simplicity of this photo and knowing how I had to make it that makes it one of my favorite.
